The Federation of Tax Advisers (FTA) is an established professional body concerned with UK taxation issues.
Its purpose is to encourage the study of taxation and to promote best practice in the administration of taxation in the UK.
The FTA campaigns for a fairer and less complex tax system. It provides a qualification and regulatory structure for its members in anticipation of the inevitable legal constraints on who may describe themselves as a tax adviser and provide tax services to the general public and businesses.
The FTA was established in 1997 and is one of the fastest growing professional bodies in the UK. In 2009 the FTA joined with Institute of Financial Accountants and is now the Tax Faculty of that organisation and continues with the style of Federation of Tax Advisers.
