WELCOME TO THE FTA

The FTA was founded in 1997 to provide taxpayers with security when dealing with a tax adviser.

Advisers who are members of the FTA are required to comply with a Code of Conduct and to have Professional Indemnity Insurance. They must also keep themselves up to date with changes in tax law through continuing professional development.

The FTA provides tax information to the public and its members through regular briefings, tax tips, Budget updates and an annual software survey.

Clients of FTA members can be confident that their tax affairs are dealt with competently and in a professional manner.

FTA OBJECTIVES

The object of The Federation of Tax Advisers is to:

• bring regulation to a hitherto unregulated area
• establish an enforceable Code of Practice
• demonstrate proper standards of competence, accuracy and confidentiality
• demand the highest standards from its members.

Taxpayers can now go to the public area where the benefits of using an FTA member are explained, along with other relevant help and information.

Tax Advisers can visit the Agents area where details of membership are provided along with a private members area.
